It's been more than a month since a hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a Fayette County teenager and investigators are still trying to locate the person who drove away after the crash.

Kaiden Estling of Maynard was riding his moped along Iowa Highway 150 just south of the community on June 28 when he was struck and killed. Sheriff's officials said the driver of the other vehicle did not stop or render aid to Estling. When deputies arrived, they discovered the 14-year-old did not survive the accident.

Investigators believe that someone other than the driver knows something about what happened or saw something suspicious. They're asking for the public's help in solving the case.

A $1,500 reward is being offered for information. Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers announced the reward Wednesday night, during a candlelight vigil held in Waterloo that focused on unsolved cases involving young people in Iowa.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fayette County Sheriff's Office at 563-422-3234 or Cedar Valley Crime Stoppers at 855-300-TIPS (8477). Tips may also be left at www.cvcrimestop.com.
