Rihanna Will Join ‘The Voice’ as Key Adviser
The Voice better have its debts paid—Rihanna's coming, and we've seen how far she's willing to go to get her money.
The "American Oxygen" singer, who narrowly missed being named PopCrush's official Beach Babe of 2015, will join the singing competition's upcoming season as a "key adviser" to the judges, according to E! News. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will serve as the next batch of coaches beginning on the Season 9 premiere on September 21.
"This is one of music's true supervisors coming on board to influence the lives and careers of the performers," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt told reporters today (August 13) at a stop along the Television Critics Association Press Tour.
Selena Gomez and Missy Elliott will also join the show for Season 9 as individual mentors for the singers on Stefani's team and Williams' team, respectively. Further, Brad Paisley will join on as Team Shelton's mentor, and John Fogerty will lend Team Levine a hand.
Christina Aguilera plans to return as a coach for the tenth season, E! notes, but a source told the site "right now she's focusing on being a mom and new music."
