The search for a former Wartburg College student has ended, nearly three weeks after he was reported missing.

Officials at the Waverly school say Selamou Mohamed Ahmed has been located in the Chicago area, where he was arrested on a burglary charge October 24th. He's been in the Cook County jail in Illinois since being taken into custody by authorities there.

The African native was last seen at Wartburg on October 22nd. College officials alerted Waverly police a week later after they learned that Ahmed hadn't contacted his father for several days. A local reporter learned of Ahmed's whereabouts while doing an internet search using his name.

According to Wartburg officials, Ahmed enrolled at Wartburg College in September 2013 and was in his second year as a physics major. He transferred to Wartburg from a college in Fulton, Missouri.

A Wartburg news release containing information on Ahmed's whereabouts lists him now as a "former" Wartburg student.
