A SUMNER MAN HAS BEEN INDICTED IN FEDERAL COURT, FOR NOT COMPLYING WITH THE STATE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY.

A FEDERAL GRAND JURY HANDED DOWN AN INDICTMENT LAST MONTH IN U.S. DISTRICT COURT IN CEDAR RAPIDS; IT CHARGES 49 YEAR OLD VICTOR CHAPEL, WITH FAILING TO REGISTER WITH THE STATE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY WHEN HE MOVED TO IOWA.

CHAPEL HAD BEEN CONVICTED OF ABUSE OF A CHILD LESS THAN 16 YEARS OLD, AND INDECENT ASSAULT ON A CHILD LESS THAN 14 YEARS OLD, WHEN HE LIVED IN MASSACHUSETTS, IN 2002.

CHAPEL HAS MADE A COURT APPEARANCE ON THIS LATEST CHARGE, AND HAS BEEN RELEASED ON BOND.

HIS TRIAL HAS BEEN TENTATIVELY SET FOR JUNE 30TH.
