Mobile, AL- A Halloween gag turned into a medical emergency.
Anna Tew was messing around with some novelty monster teeth when they became stuck in her mouth. Tew says she used the glue that came with the teeth, but the adhesive wasn't temporary.
She tugged on the fake fangs for hours, and even used WIRE CUTTERS to try to get them off, but nothing worked.
The pain got so bad that Tew had to look up an emergency dentist, who eventually detached the "devil teeth" from her real ones. [WKRG-TV]
King George Island, Antarctica- A scientist has been arrested after trying to murder a co-worker.
Sergey Savitsky is a researcher at Bellingshausen Station in Antarctica. And I don't know if it was because of the cold, or the isolation, or somebody eating his breakfast cereal, he had some kind of "emotional breakdown" and attacked one of his colleagues with a knife.
The victim suffered at least one blow to the body. Investigators say the pair had been living together in the station for more than six months.
Savitsky turned himself in voluntarily and has been placed under house arrest until December. [The Guardian]
Whatever you do, don't show The Shining to this guy. It'll hit too close to home.
Port St. Lucie, FL- A guy got arrested for beating up his girlfriend...while wearing his dinosaur Halloween costume.
19-year-old Patrick Gallway and his 23-year-old girlfriend disagreed about attending a Halloween party Saturday night--he wanted to go, she didn't. Gallway allegedly pushed the victim to the ground before mounting her and holding her neck to the floor.
His girlfriend called police, Gallway went to the party, and a witness backed up her story. Gallway returned home from the party around 3:00 a.m. and an officer noticed an inflatable dinosaur costume in the front passenger seat.
He was charged with misdemeanor battery. [The Smoking Gun]
