A Winthrop teen is being charged with using a cell phone or other electronic device while driving, crashing the vehicle in rural Fayette County.

It happened at about 7pm Sunday, west of Fayette, on Highway 93, near the intersection with "N" avenue.

An suv driven by 16 year old Dakota Everly, went out of control, entered a ditch, and rolled twice. Everly was taken to the Sumner hospital; a condition report was not available. The vehicle was totaled.

Everly was charged with failure to maintain control, and use of electronic communication device while driving.

The Fayette County Sherff was assisted by the Fayette Ambulance and Fayette Fire Department.
