The 12 Days of Christmas Are Very Expensive
The 12 Days of Christmas are VERY expensive and keep getting costlier. It's getting to the point that none of us here can afford the partridge in a pear tree.
According to PNC Wealth Management, purchasing every item mentioned in "The Twelve Days of Christmas" will cost $156,508 in 2016. That's up's from $155,407 last year.
Here is the breakdown of the 364 items:
- One Partridge And A Pear Tree, $210; last year: $215
- Two turtle doves, $375; last year: $290
- Three French hens, $181.50; last year: same, $181.50
- Four calling birds (canaries), $600; last year: same, $600
- Five gold rings, $750; last year: same, $750
- Six geese a-laying, $360; last year: same, $360
- Seven swans a-swimming, $13,125; last year: same, $13,125
- Eight maids a-milking, $58; last year: same, $58
- Nine ladies dancing , $7,553; last year: same, $7,553
- 10 lords a-leaping, $5,509 last year: $5,509
- 11 pipers piping, $2,708 last year: same, $2.635
