The Northeast Iowa Food Bank will be teaming up with schools throughout the Cedar Valley in an effort to collect and distribute foods to those in need. The drive will also teach students about volunteerism, community involvement and teamwork.

The student food drive is going on now through November 14th.

Here are eight schools currently taking part in the program:

  • Cedar Falls High
  • West High
  • East High
  • Hudson High
  • Union High
  • Denver High
  • Valley Lutheran
  • Waterloo Christian High

The students participate through their high school. The students, with the help of a faculty adviser, plan school events and contests to promote the food drive, organize their food collection, as well as package and deliver the food to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.

Winners from each size category will be mentioned on a Billboard after the drive.
