Single and ready to mingle? Great! Now (like, right now) is the best time to find someone new.

According to Match.com, online dating sites are at their busiest between Dec. 26 and Feb. 14. Match reports 50 million messages sent and 1 million dates occurring during this period. So, now that we've established that there are plenty of hotties available...what's the best way for them to find you? Elite Daily has some tips:

1. KEEP YOUR PROFILE CURRENT

Nothing's more annoying than meeting someone who looks nothing like their profile pictures. You should update your info--especially photos--regularly. Tinder actually has a Smart Photo feature that will feature your "best" photos first. Authenticity is key.

2. SEND THE FIRST MESSAGE

Equality, right?

So many women complain about men not showing any interest--while simultaneously not telling men they're interested. Men can't read your mind, no matter how much women would prefer that we could. Social norms are changing, so try getting in the habit of sending the message first. Lots of guys are likely to appreciate the openness. Shoot your shot, ladies!

3. DON'T SWIPE BASED ON LOOKS ALONE

Admittedly, this one is a bit trickier. We need to experience some kind of physical attraction, and dating sites by nature are superficial. But the pictures don't tell the whole story. At some point you'll have to find out if you're compatible. A person's bio can tell you a lot about him or her.

Granted, I'm not some all-knowing love guru or anything like that...but I can speak from experience. I was single AF when I matched with this girl named Lauren on Tinder in February of 2014. That girl is now my fiancee...and the rest is history. The right person is out there, and they could be just a few clicks or swipes away.
