Two 17-year-olds are in custody following a home invasion in Waterloo on Friday (April 24, 2015).

On Sunday, Waterloo police arrested Marcus Pendleton and Dacarious Burkett in connection with the incident, which occurred in the 700 block of Dawson Street. The juveniles were taken into custody on adult charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

According to Waterloo police, the teenagers had their faces covered when they entered the home, tied-up the woman inside, and struck her with several objects including a hammer. The suspects allegedly threatened to harm the victim if she called police.

Pendleton and Burkett allegedly stole several valuables from the victim during the invasion, including her car. After the suspects left, the woman was able to free herself and call police. Her injuries did not require hospitalization, police said.

According to investigators, it appears that one of the suspects may be an acquaintance of a relative to the woman.

Officers found the vehicle abandoned in Waterloo several hours later.
