A device that prompted a visit from the Waterloo Bomb Squad early this (Monday) morning, was apparently a CO2 cartridge with a fuse.

The incident began late Sunday night; a man who was walking home, approached three men who had a suspicious item. The man, Robert Behrenburg, took the device home, to 211 Monroe Street, then decided to call police at about 1am today.

Waterloo authorities then summoned the bomb squad, which disarmed the device.

According to sources, the item was a CO2 cartridge with a fuse.

No one was injured, and no arrests have been made, although the incident remains under investigation.
