The Fayette County Sheriff reports a couple of accidents involving deer.
The latest happened shortly after 9pm Tuesday (Sept. 27), on Highway 150, north of Oelwein. A northbound van driven by Cheryl Rummel of Maynard collided with a deer in the road. No one was hurt, but there was $5,000 damage to the 2012 Chrysler Town and Country van.

And just after 7:30pm Monday (Sept. 26), authorities were notified of an accident east of West Union on Golden Road. An eastbound pickup driven by Melissa Schupbach of Elgin struck a deer that wandered out onto the road. There were no injuries, and damages were estimated at $3,500 to the 1997 Dodge Dakota.
