Fire damaged a Waterloo home on Christmas Eve.

Firefighters were called to 936 Lynda Road just before 8:30 PM on Monday (Dec. 24, 2018).

Waterloo Fire Rescue officials said a blaze started in a large garbage cart stored near the house and spread to the outside of the home. The fire was quickly extinguished.

According to officials, the fire damaged the home's exterior siding. The garbage cart and its contents were destroyed.

Investigators said the fire caused an estimated $10,000 damage. They determined the cause was accidental. No injuries were reported.
