There is less than one month remaining in the 2017-18 academic year for students attending public schools in Waterloo.

According to Waterloo Community School District officials, the final day of classes for all students will be Thursday, June 7. Graduating seniors will end their school year on Wednesday, May 30. The last day for pre-kindergarten students is scheduled for Tuesday, June 5.

The last day of school will be a full day with no early dismissal, district officials said.

Commencement ceremonies have also been scheduled for the district's three public high schools. Graduation dates and times are as follows:

  • EXPO ALTERNATIVE LEARNING CENTER
    Wednesday, May 30 - 6 PM at Expo School, 1410 Independence Ave.
  • EAST HIGH SCHOOL
    Thursday, May 31 - 6 PM at McLeod Center, University of Northern Iowa Campus in Cedar Falls
  • WEST HIGH SCHOOL
    Friday, June 1 - 6 PM at McLeod Center, University of Northern Iowa Campus in Cedar Falls

Copies of each graduation ceremony will be available to purchase for $10 through the district's Education Service Center, School and Community Relations Department. DVD orders must be placed before graduation by calling Linda Armstrong at 433-1804 or emailing her at armstrongl@waterlooschools.org.
