Where Did Summer Go?

Sitting here at my desk on August 14th, I have to ask myself; "Where the heck did the Summer of 2014 go?". I realize we have plenty of warm weather left before Fall is here, but man does it ever seem like June and July just flew by. From a personal standpoint, I have not gone camping one single time, and I have only been fishing once this Summer.

We took a family trip to Chicago, and I made my annual pilgrimage back to my hometown of Rogers City, Michigan, but other than that, I feel like I haven't gotten much out of this Summer at all! I think a big part of the reason why it feels as if Summer has flown by this year, is because of how crappy June was.

If you remember, it basically rained for about 3 straight weeks in June. That put a big-time damper on the start to the Summer season. So I guess as we head into back-to-school time, we all need to make these next few Summer weeks worth it!
