A vet collected the sample from a leopard seal and it had been kept in a freezer at the New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) for over a year. A volunteer sifted through the thawed out sample last month and found a functioning USB drive.

Researchers plugged in the thumb drive, and discovered it still worked. The jump drive contained videos and pictures from the owner's vacation. The NIWA issued a statement, saying, quote, "it is very worrying that these amazing Antarctic animals have plastic like this inside them." [CNN]

41-year-old Antonio Smallwood was relaxing at home Wednesday night when the mood struck and he decided to enjoy some "adult entertainment."

The thing is...he projected the movie onto his garage door, so the entire neighborhood could see. One of those neighbors called the cops, and Smallwood was still watching the XXX film when they got there.

He was charged with obscene sexual display, and when he wouldn't sign a court summons, police added an obstruction charge. [The Smoking Gun]

20-year-old Kiana Champagne Fletcher drew the attention of officers last Monday night after she was seen barking at a police dog that was sniffing a car during a traffic stop.

Cops recognized Fletcher and knew she was wanted on a couple of outstanding warrants. When officers approached Fletcher she ran inside her home and hid. Officers executed a search warrant of the house and found methamphetamine and an assortment of drug paraphernalia.

Fletcher was arrested, along with 25-year-old Cody Campbell, for drug possession, maintaining a common nuisance and resisting arrest. [Lafayette Journal & Courier]
