A motorist is being charged with causing a two-vehicle accident northeast of Oelwein.


It happened at about 8am Monday (April 9) on "K" Avenue, just north of 50th Street. 56-year-old Marjory Meyer was driving south, when she lost control of her sport utility vehicle and went into the oncoming lane, colliding with a truck driven by 34-year-old Joshua Bond.

Meyer was taken to Mercy Hospital in Oelwein; no one else was injured. Meyer was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.

The accident was covered by the Fayette County Sheriff, with assistance from the Iowa State Patrol, Oelwein Fire and Oelwein Ambulance.
