You Could Win $500,000 Just For Creating the New Oreo Flavor
Fill your wallet, fill your stomach and, most importantly: filling.
Oreo has announced a contest in which people can pitch their ideas for a new flavor of the iconic cookie. Yup, that’s it — you don’t have to make a homemade version of it or anything. All you have to do is use your noodle to come up with a flavor that whets your taste buds.
You can find all the details about how to enter here and make sure to take this seriously, because Oreo certainly is: the person with the winning idea gets $500,000 and a trip to New York City. That’s half a million dollars for creating a cookie. There are worse ways to make money.
Three other finalists will also get 25 grand apiece, while also seeing their entries become limited time offerings. And you know what that means: big money on the secondary market.
People have already begun swirling combinations in their heads. Take a look at some of the yummy — or maybe not so much — below. Of course, there is the issue of what happens if the winning entry is suggested by more than one person. We say those people have a twist-off: they each take one side of the cookie and twist it. The one who gets the most cream is the winner.
The contest runs ’til July 14, so you’ve got plenty of time to show off your creativity. Perhaps Christina Aguilera will ultimately take the crown?
