Two Northeast Iowa school districts are taking steps for a merger.


The Decorah Community School District and the North Winneshiek Community School Distric have filed a petition for merger. The petition was filed with the Keystone Area Education Agency on September 15th.

A public hearing on the proposed merger will take place on October 16th at 5:30pm at Luther College in Decorah, in the Recital Hall, Center for Faith and Life.

Anyone wishing to file an objection to the merger, should do so by 12pm on October 9th. Objection forms are available at Keystone AEA in Elkader, the Decorah Community School District, and the North Winneshiek Community School District.
