The Howard County Sheriff's Office is investigating a snowmobile accident that took the life of a Cresco man.


Authorities received a call at about 1:30am Friday, reporting a snowmobile accident northwest of Lime Springs.

28-year-old Ross Wilson was riding alone on Major Road, when he lost control, and the snowmobile rolled over him.

Wilson was discovered by another snowmobiler who was also riding the nearby trails. Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Howard County Sheriff was assisted by the Lime Springs Fire Department, Howard County Medical Examiner, and Howard County Ambulance.
