A Southwest Wisconsin man has been charged with operating while intoxicated for the fifth time, and faces some very serious consequences.

A vehicle driven by 54-year-old Daniel Carroll of Prairie du Chien was stopped after police witnessed his vehicle speed across an intersection, squealing its tires.

The officer caught up with Carroll when he stopped in a driveway.

An investigation determined that Carroll was Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated. Carroll has had 4 previous OWI convictions.

If he is convicted in this case, Carroll could be sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined $25,000.
