Brace Yourselves: More New Emoji Are Coming

Honestly, I like emojis (emoji?) just fine, but I only have about 15 or 20 I rotate through regularly. But, times they are a-changin', and most people would rather send icons than engage in actual conversation with another person. As a result, 51 new, somewhat socially-conscious emojis (seriously, does it have an "s" or not?) will be available next summer.

According to Gizmodo, Unicode's emoji subcommittee--yes, that's a real thing--approved the additions. The two big standout emojis with political resonance were the “Person With Headscarf” (hijab) and “Breast-Feeding.”

Here's a sneak peek at the rest:

• A face with an open mouth, vomiting
• A shocked face with exploding head (#MindBlown)
• Serious face with symbols covering mouth (An alternative to "WTF?", maybe?)
• Grinning face with crazy eyes
• T-Rex
• Vampire
• Zombie
• Bearded person
• Sandwich
• Pretzel
