Couple Arrested for Having Meth Around Kids
A Decorah couple has been arrested for exposing their young children to methamphetamine.
On Monday, July 30, the Winneshiek County Sheriff executed a search warrant at a residence on East Water Street in Decorah.
As a result, 44-year-old Bruce Divers and 43-year-old Valerie Burke are each being charged with Child Endangerment-Meth Exposure, Possession of Methamphetamine-Third or Subsequent Offense, Possession of Marijuana-Third or Subsequent Offense, and Possession of Ephedrine (All Class D Felonies).
Divers and Burke were both arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.
The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Decorah Police Department, Decorah Fire Department, Winneshiek Medical Center Ambulance, Winneshiek County Attorney's Office, and the Iowa State Patrol.
