Heading into their final regular-season game Sunday afternoon, the Waterloo Bucks know who they'll be playing in the first-round of the 2019 Northwoods League playoffs.

The Bucks will battle the Eau Claire Express for the Great Plains East Sub-Divisional Championship. The best-of-three series begins at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo on Monday at 6:35 PM. Gates open at 5:30 PM. The first 250 fans will receive a ball cap as they enter the stadium.

Eau Claire (39-30 overall) won the Great Plains East Sub-Division second-half title and clinched a playoff berth with a 11-6 come-back victory over the Bucks in Waterloo Saturday night. The Express rallied from a 6-5 deficit, scoring once in the seventh and ninth innings and five times in the eighth at Riverfront Stadium.

Because they have a better overall record than Waterloo, the Express will have home field advantage in the Sub-Divisional Championship series. They will host game two at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wis. on Tuesday night and, if necessary, game three on Wednesday.

The Bucks (34-34 overall) qualified for the playoffs by winning the Great Plains East Sub-Division first-half title. Waterloo is making its first trip to the playoffs since 2013, when the Bucks won a then-league record 51 games and claimed both half-season championships in the North Division.

The winner of the Great Plains East Sub-Division Championship will face the winner of the Great Plains West Sub-Division Series in a one-game, winner-take-all Great Plains Division Championship. The winner of the Great Plains Championship then faces the Great Lakes Champion in a one-game set to determine the 2019 Northwoods League champion.

The Bucks host Eau Claire in their 2019 regular-season final Sunday at Riverfront Stadium, starting at 2:05 PM. It is fan appreciation day, with prizes awarded throughout the game.
