The Waterloo Bucks completed a two-game sweep of their season-opening series with the La Crosse Loggers Wednesday night.

Aggressive base running and a six-run inning sparked the Bucks to a 14-6 victory over the Loggers at Copeland Park in La Crosse. Waterloo stole 10 bases and drew 13 walks in the four-hour, seven-minute Northwoods League game.

Jake Gitter led the Bucks' production at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a pair of walks and three runs batted in. He was one of five Waterloo players who had at least one RBI.

Gitter's two-run double punctuated a six-run sixth inning that effectively sealed the win for the Bucks (1-0). Alonzo Rubalcaba had a two-run single in the frame, and Sam Olson connected for an RBI single.

Rubalcaba and Cole Brooks each stole three bases. Brooks also had three RBI.

Jake Parisi (1-0) earned the win for Waterloo by official scorer's discretion, pitching 3.1 innings of relief. The righthander allowed two earned runs on three hits and four walks. He recorded five strikeouts.

The Bucks open a three-game homestand at 6:35 PM on Thursday, when they host the St. Cloud Rox at Riverfront Stadium.
