Officials at Marshalltown Speedway have postponed the 2018 World Nationals until September due to weather.

Originally on the Marshalltown Speedway's 2018 calendar for March 22-24, the $10,000 to win IMCA Modified special will now be contested on September 13-15.

"Conditions have not allowed us to work the track last Thursday," the track's Facebook announced today. "And the forecast for this week/weekend does not look promising in the least."

Running with the IMCA Modifieds will be IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA SportMods, and IMCA Hobby Stocks both nights.

That moves Friday, April 6 up as the first race of the season for the central Iowa speedplant. That night is the third night of the IMCA Frostbuster. Wednesday the week-long series begins at Lee County Speedway. Thursday the tour heads to Benton County Speedway, and the four race stretch wraps at Boone Speedway that Saturday.
