When you gotta go, you gotta go.

Anyone that has ever been on that long family road trip knows that as soon as someone says they need to go to the bathroom, you better pull over quickly. That's exactly what happened on a Delta flight going from New York to Seattle.

The Delta flight had broken toilets on the 6 hour flight across the country and the passengers couldn't hold it much longer. The flight made an emergency "pit stop" in Billings, Montana. Once on the ground, the plane had to taxi to a cargo area because no gates were available at that time. A rolling flight of stairs came up to the door so passengers could go use the restroom.

Since the flight had to divert to Billings, land, let passengers off, back on, find a runway to exit on, and correct their flight pattern, the total delay added 3.5 hours to their trip.
