Disney unveiled the debut teaser for its forthcoming live action Mulan remake during the Women’s World Cup on Sunday (July 7).

The clip begins with scenic landscapes before showing Mulan’s family speaking about the village matchmaker finding Mulan a husband. The trailer teases the incredible fight scenes to come, with actress Yifei Liu playing the heroic titular lead role.

The video then cuts to the matchmaker expressing qualities men look for in a good wife while clips are shown of Mulan jumping off roofs, shooting a bow and arrow and engaged in battle. The clip even gives a sneak peek of what Mulan will look like in disguise as a man when she trains in the military to save her sick father.

With all of the iconic moments shown in the trailer, one notable missing element is the dragon character, Mushu, who was previously voiced by Eddie Murphy in the animated version.

The trailer debuted at halftime on Fox’s broadcast of the FIFA Women’s World Cup game featuring the U.S. and the Netherlands competing.

Disney's original animated movie, Mulan, debuted June 5, 1998. The new live action film will hit theaters on March 27, 2020.
