A young Cresco motorist is accused of distracted driving, in a Fayette County accident involving 3 vehicles, sending several to the hospital.


Just before 4:00 p.m. Monday (Dec. 4), the Fayette County Sheriff was alerted of a multiple-vehicle accident with injuries, in the 16,000 block of Highway 150, near the city of Fayette.

An investigation determined that 18-year-old Logan Johnson of Cresco, was driving a pickup north, when he became distracted, and struck a stopped SUV driven by 25-year-old Paul Spies Jr. of West Union. The Jeep then collided with a stopped car driven by 67-year-old Barbara Corbin of Wadena.

Spies' SUV went into the ditch and rolled. The three drivers and a passenger in the Spies vehicle were all taken to the West Union hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Johnson, the pickup driver, was cited for Using an Electronic Device While Driving.
