A driver who ran over a stop sign in Fayette County, faces a charge of driving drunk.


Shortly after 8:30am Monday (July 9), the Fayette County Sheriff received a 911 call, reporting that a vehicle nearly hit other vehicles in traffic, and ran over a stop sign near the intersection of Highways 3 and 150, north of Oelwein. The vehicle was then seen traveling west on Highway 3.

The suspect vehicle was located near the Fayette/Bremer County line. Deputies from both counties stopped the vehicle about 3 miles west of Oran.

The driver, 38-year-old Noelle Borden of Traer, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. She was taken to the Bremer County Sheriff's office in Waverly.

Borden is also charged in Fayette County with Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.
