Indy Man Arrested for Theft, Oelwein Woman for Drugs

Oelwein Police have arrested an Independence man on theft charges.

The arrest was made stemming from an incident that happened just before 8:00 p.m. Monday (Aug. 27), in the 100 block of 2nd Street SE. 47-year-old Rick Butterfield was taken into custody on two counts of Theft in the 5th Degree.

An Oelwein woman faces a drug charge, after police were called to a disturbance Monday at about 3:30pm in the 100 block of West Charles. Following the investigation, 38-year-old Barbara Griffiths was taken into custody on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
