Iowa Forward Pemsl Says Knee Is Good To Go

The Iowa men's basketball program got another injection of good news on Thursday as forward Cordell Pemsl met the press to talk about his recovery from knee surgery. Iowa fans can breathe a little easier. Pemsl says he's feeling great.

After Iowa's first game last year, Pemsl announced that he would be having season-ending knee surgery. He later reconsidered and actually played in the game against Iowa State on December 6th. His spirit and hustle helped Iowa to a big win over the Cyclones. But a couple of days after that game, Pemsl realized he had to shut things down and go with the surgery.

Pemsl declared himself back to 100%. He's been cleared for all offseason workouts and will be an important veteran presence on a young Iowa team this winter. All of his fellow juniors from last season won't be on the court with him this year. Tyler Cook is in the NBA. Isiah Moss transferred to Kansas. Maishe Daily transferred to Akron. Jordan Bohannon is questionable this season after a hip surgery. It will be a different looking Iowa team for sure. One that will need Pemsl at full strength.
