‘Meant to Be,’ ‘The Middle’ Become Holiday Classics Thanks to Jimmy Fallon + Lin-Manuel Miranda [Watch]

'Tis the season for holiday parodies, and no one does them better than Jimmy Fallon. On Monday night's (Dec. 17) Tonight Show, the late-night host and Lin-Manuel Miranda teamed up to put a festive spin on some of the hottest songs of the year, including some country.

Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha's 50-week No. 1 smash "Meant to Be" was picked to transform into a track about Elf on the Shelf. "Pay attention to how you act / Elf on the Shelf is watching that," Hamilton playwright Miranda sings to the tune of "Meant to Be."

Behind him, an Elf sits atop a fireplace, watching Miranda and Fallon. "He's watchin' me / He's watchin' me / He's watchin' me / That little elf is watchin' me," they continue with the melody of the chorus to "Meant to Be."

FGL aren't the only country act to get the parody treatment. Maren Morris and Zedd's chart topper "The Middle" is also featured in Fallon's medley, which includes tracks from Migos' "Stir Fry," Ariana Grande's "No Tears Left to Cry" and Cardi B's "I Like It," among others.

"The Middle" is suddenly a Hanukkah classic as Miranda and Fallon spin a dreidel while reinterpreting the hit. "Baby, why don't you just help me spin my dreidel? / The Menorah is lit on the table / So why don't you just help me spin my dreidel? / Spin my dreidel," they sing.

Both "Meant to Be" and "The Middle" garnered 2019 Grammy Awards nominations earlier this year.
