Sisters Mary Margaret Kreuper and Lana Chang, who both had retired earlier this year from St. James Catholic School, had been "involved in the personal use of a substantial amount of school funds."

The nuns allegedly embezzled as much as $500,000 in tuition, fees and donations, perhaps spending some of the money on trips and gambling at casinos

The improper use of the funds had been going on for at least 10 years, according to the church's monsignor. The archdiocese and the church are not pursuing criminal charges. The nuns' order has agreed to make restitution payments to the school [Press-Telegram]

The 69-year-old patient underwent brain surgery earlier this year after doctors detected what they thought was a tumor. They examined the tissue and noticed "a section of her brain about the size of a golf ball was bloody mush."

The woman died a month later from the rare organisms that entered her brain after she used a neti pot, which is meant to relieve congestion by rinsing out the sinuses and nasal cavity. The woman likely became infected from using tap water instead of sterile water or saline solution.

It's just the second infection ever reported in Seattle--and the first fatality caused by it. [Seattle Times]

Walgreens shoppers got quite the eyeful last week when a partially nude man was seen walking through the store.

Video shows a slim, elderly man leaving the store, wearing only knee-high white boots, white angel wings, red garter belt and a long Santa Claus hat.

The video, which has been viewed more than 57,000 times on Facebook, shows a Santa emoji positioned over the man's...candy cane. [Miami Herald]
