We now know the name of the third victim of a multi-vehicle accident that happened east of Charles City last Friday afternoon.


The accident was reported at about 5pm at the intersection of 210th Street and Woodside Road, in Floyd County.

The 3rd victim, 60-year-old Douglas Mack of Charles City, was driving a northbound pickup that collided with a westbound pickup driven by 28-year-old Jacob Mahnesmith of Nashua, which did not stop at the intersection. Mahnesmith and one of his passengers, 28-year-old Shane Wiltse of Charles City, also died in the accident, as well as Mack.

Another passenger in Mahnesmith's vehicle, 29-year-old Thomas Parcher of Marble Rock, was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Floyd County Sheriff, Charles City Police and Fire Departments, Nashua Police, and local ambulance services.
