Waterloo police have released the names of the victims in a series of shootings that left one man dead and three others injured Saturday morning (May 18, 2018).

Authorities have identified the person killed as Gregory Walker, 33. Officers found him inside a home at 639 Gable St. on the city’s east side when they arrived around 5:15 AM. Police said Walker was treated at the scene for a serious gunshot wound and later died at a local hospital.

An autopsy is scheduled at the Iowa State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny on Monday, police said in a press release.

Officials said three other victims wounded by gunfire earlier Saturday morning all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, Davon Campbell, 22, was injured in the 1600 block of Sycamore St. Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area around 4:35 AM. Upon arrival, they learned that Campbell was being treated at the hospital.

The other shooting occurred just after midnight, when officers patrolling in the 1300 block of E. 4th St. heard shots being fired. Upon further investigation, they determined the shooting occurred near Linn and Cottage streets, about one block away.

Waterloo police said two people were hurt in the shooting. Cashee Williams, 21, suffered a minor injury and was treated at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital. Devonte Wright, 17, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and received treatment at Covenant Medical Center.

According to authorities, each of the incidents remain under investigation. They haven't indicated if the shootings are connected.
