A new family-friendly arcade opens its doors this weekend and I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek!

House Bolton Arcade has taken over the former Uptown Tots storefront on Cedar Falls' bustling Main Street. After a few months of waiting--securing the location, obtaining permits, and installing games--this converted toddler clothing boutique is finally ready for its big reveal. Fortunately for me, I live on Main Street myself, so owners Nathan & Jenny Bolton were kind enough to let me see the space before it opened to the public.

The Boltons wanted to cross generational lines and bring something to the area that children and their parents could have fun with. Nathan & Jenny didn't have to look far for inspiration. The couple has six kids--ranging from 14 to 1--with a seventh on the way.

"One of the big things we really wanted to do is bring parents and kids back together. We’re ’80s babies. We can bring our kids in here and teach them the games that we grew up playing,” Jenny told The Courier.

House Bolton's lineup includes games like skee-ball and claw machines, along with vintage arcade classics such as GalagaMs. Pac-Man and '90s favorites like NBA Jam & Area 51.

Thanks so much to the Boltons for letting me take a look! House Bolton Arcade will have its official grand opening Saturday (6/17) at 10 a.m., with free unlimited games until 2 p.m. The arcade is located at 110 Main Street in Cedar Falls. Get your game on!
