Oelwein Police Report Arrests on Warrant and Intox

Oelwein Police have arrested a local man on an outstanding warrant, concerning illegal drugs.

Shortly after 4am Sunday (June 30), following an interaction with an officer in the 100 block of 12th Street SE, 27 year old Tyler Thompson of Oelwein was taken into custody on a Buchanan County Probation Violation Warrant. The original charge was Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Oelwein Police are investigating a break-in. The burglary was reported at about 6:45pm Saturday in the 200 block of 5th Avenue SW.

And officers arrested an Oelwein man, 62 year old Donald Latham, Friday evening, on a charge of Public Intoxication-3rd or Subsequent Offense; Latham was arrested in the 500 block of 5th Street NE.
