Authorities have arrested a man who had been exposing himself to people in Cedar Falls, including a pair of incidents that happened on the University of Northern Iowa campus last month.

After a joint investigation by the Cedar Falls Police Department and the UNI Police Department, 35-year-old Benjamin Williams of Reinbeck was arrested Wednesday (Dec. 5) by Iowa Falls Police.

Williams is being charged with six counts of indecent exposure and three counts of third degree harassment. Williams was booked into the Black Hawk County Jail in Waterloo.

Two of the incidents were reported November 13th on Olive Street. Williams asked a woman who approached his vehicle if she wanted to see something, then turned on the interior lights of his vehicle, illuminating his exposed genitals. He asked another victim for directions, then exposed himself.

Two other incidents happened November 14th and November 28th on the UNI Campus, where Williams asked other victims for directions, then exposed himself. Witnesses were able to give police the license plate number of his vehicle.

The charges are serious misdemeanors, which carry a fine of $250 to $1,500, and up to a year in jail.
