Officers confronted 24-year-old Bonafacio Taffola & 26-year-old Arcenio Sosa Solorio early Saturday morning. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot at police, while the other attempted to leave the scene on foot.

Police said 38 pounds of marijuana were taken as evidence from the suspects’ vehicle, as well as two grams of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. The approximate street value of the drugs is $75,000.

Both Taffola & Solorio were taken in for drug trafficking and aggravated assault. [Idaho State Journal]

Piqua, OH- A high school was placed on lockdown after two students sent out a series of anonymous threats inspired by a popular TV show.

A 14-year-old and 15-year-old girl were arrested after making threats to the school in the style of those featured on the show Pretty Little Liars.

Police say the 15-year-old created a Snapchat account with the display name “A” and posted messages about exposing classmates’ secrets, which then led to rumors about a possible school shooting.

The 14-year-old followed that up by writing a violent threat on a bathroom mirror, which caused the school to evacuate on Friday.

“A” is a Pretty Little Liars character that sends ominous messages to classmates.

Both girls were charged in juvenile court. [TV Guide]

Tampa Bay, FL- Santa Claus wound up in the hospital after a stunt went wrong.

Gerald Krokus was dressed as Santa to deliver toys to the Tampa Bay Beach Bums Operation Santa Charity Volleyball Tournament. But instead of sliding down the chimney, he jumped out of an airplane. The skydiving Santa didn't stick the landing, and broke his leg after striking a palm tree.

Krokus' passenger on the flight was an "Elf on a Shelf" named Kristoff, which he had intended on bringing to a nine-year-old girl during the tournament. Both Santa and the elf are expected to make a full recovery. [USA Today / Bay News 9]
