Life is full of obstacles, sometimes you're going to fail, and that's OK. I once saw a poster that said: "FAIL= First Attempt In Learning" - kind of corny, but accurate. You do learn something each time you fail and those experiences prepare you for other challenges you will encounter down the road.

Marketwatch.com just posted a story which will tell you if you're a snowplow parent. Snowplow parents are parents that clear the path for their kids, preventing any obstacles and any chance to fail. We all want our kids to succeed but the article explains that being a snowplow parent actually prevents your child from developing important traits like resiliency and resourcefulness. Let your kids fall down, let them fail, let them lose. These setbacks will better prepare them for the real world.
