You can insert your own “tell me what you want, what you really really want” joke here. We refuse to play your game, internet. No way.

Such jokes would be hacky, but wholly appropriate today. The Hollywood Reporter says Paramount is actively working on a new movie for the Spice Girls — this one an animated feature featuring the full original lineup of the classic girl group:

All five members of the iconic '90s group — Melanie Brown (Scary), Emma Bunton (Baby), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty), Geri Halliwell (Ginger) and Victoria Beckham (Posh) are on board, with Simon Fuller producing and Karen McCullah and Kiwi Smith writing the screenplay. The animated feature will include Spice Girls classics as well as new songs.

Supposedly the idea for the movie came from the Spice Girls themselves; Paramount’s animation president Mireille Soria says the group is “very involved” with bringing the material to life.

The Spice Girls previously starred in Spice World, loosely based on their own lives, back in 1997 at the height of their popularity. Though the film got poor reviews at the time, it’s become a cult film among people who grew up in the ’90s, at least according to the movie’s Wikipedia page, which insists the film is “a masterpiece of the parody genre, that mocks both the starsystem and clichés of the cinema” and includes no less than ten footnotes to back up that claim.

.The same THR article also reveals Paramount is working on a “hybrid live-action/animation movie” based on Mighty Mouse. How about a crossover? Something like Mighty Mouse v Spice World: Dawn of Wannabes. That could be huge.
