A former employee at a Cresco sandwich shop faces charges, after blaming his girlfriend for a burglary that he apparently committed.

31-year-old Jess Wirkler, a former Subway employee, is accused of keeping a key card that he used to break into the store after hours, last month (September). Wirkler then emptied the cash register, which contained about $350.

Wirkler blamed his girlfriend for the theft, but a surveillance video shows him taking the money and leaving through the back door. The girlfriend identified Wirkler as the suspect.

He is being charged with Third Degree Burglary.
