A man and woman were injured in a two-vehicle accident on the southern edge of Waterloo Friday afternoon.

The Iowa State Patrol said Christine Schroeder, 26, of Lincoln, Neb., was taken to MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo by private vehicle to be treated for undisclosed injuries. 92-year-old James Jorgensen, of Cedar Falls, also suffered injuries, but wasn't transported to the hospital. Both were passengers.

Authorities were called to the 229 mile marker of U.S. Highway 20/Iowa Highway 27 near the Ansborough Ave. interchange around 2:45 PM. According to a crash report, Wheaton Schroeder, 27, of Lincoln, Neb., was driving eastbound and failed slow down for heavy traffic in front of him. Schroaeder's vehicle rear-ended a pick-up, driven by Kurt Jorgensen, 67, of Prairie du Chien, Wis.
