A UI student has been charged following a laptop theft this past weekend.

According to the University of Iowa Department of Public Safety, an officer responded to Hillcrest Residence Hall around early Saturday morning.

The victim reported that someone had entered his dorm room and taken his bedding, along with an Apple MacBook Pro laptop.

The victim told police that he believed 19-year-old Allison O'Connell was the perpetrator. Officers located O'Connell, searched her vehicle and found the stolen items inside.
