Maddie Poppe is home for the holidays!

The American Idol winner and Eastern Iowa native returned to the Hawkeye State for several holiday shows. This brief tour of the Maddie Poppe: Acoustic Christmas show culminated in a performance in Cedar Rapids.

On Sunday, December 10th fans flocked to the Paramount Theatre for her final show of the season.

The twenty-six-year-old singer/songwriter brought with her to the Hawkeye State a four-person band (including herself) for an evening of Holiday favorites and a splash of some of her biggest hits.

An exciting moment for the crowd, was when Poppe introduced one of her band members as her boyfriend, Gabe. The audience openly seemed to approve of the Iowa native's choice.

Later on in the evening, Poppe began playing more of her own music. She introduced her songs in the typical sarcastic and silly style that her live performances are known for.

However, at one point, Maddie Poppe got a bit more serious. The singer was sharing with the audience, the story behind an unreleased song entitled 'Come Around.'

"It's about closing a chapter in life and moving on," the singer shared with the Cedar Rapids crowd.

"...it can be a real hard feeling to deal with."

You can listen to a clip of the song at the Cedar Rapids performance down below!

The Clarksville native confirmed that the new song would be coming out sometime next year, but no specific date was announced. We will keep you updated if any additional information is given regarding new music from Poppe.
