These "challenges" are getting worse and worse.

I'm sure there were challenges before the ALS Ice Bucket challenge, but these challenges are getting worse and stupid. Off the top of my head, I can remember the Saltine challenge of trying to eat 6 saltine crackers in a minute. Then it was trying to eat a spoon full of cinnamon and of course we all remember the Tide Pod challenge.

But this newest one is has literally nothing fun, interesting or safe about it. It's the "48 Hour Missing Person Challenge". The goal is that these teens will hide from their parents or guardians for 48 hours and then see if they turn up "missing" on social media.

"This could be the stupidest thing I've ever heard of," said a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department and it's hard to disagree with him.

Just in our offices, I've asked coworkers with teens if they've heard of this "challenge" and the overwhelming response is, "If my kids did this, I'd beat their [expletive]".

So teens... don't do this. Parents... be aware that this is happening right now.
