The IowaWORKS Center in Waterloo will be open from 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on Tuesday, Jan. 9.

The extended hours are designed to accommodate people who are unable to visit the center during normal business hours. The center's new hours are 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Monday and Friday; 7:30 a.m. -6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday; and 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Center is located at 3420 University Ave.

Andy Trower, Operations Manager for the Waterloo office, said opening an hour earlier and staying open 90 minutes later two days a week will allow the staff to help job seekers who may already have a full-time job and are searching for a new opportunity.

"Many people make it a goal to get a better job at the beginning of the year," Trower said. "We hope our extended hours will make it easier for customers to benefit from our wide variety of services and workshops."

Job seeker services include career counseling, skill upgrades and training, and help creating resumes and cover letters and preparing for interviews.
