A startling find in Waterloo has law enforcement scratching their heads this week.

On Monday, March 4th 2024 a strange discovery was reported to local officials.

Someone had made the Waterloo Police Department aware of something that is straight out of a True Crime Podcast.

What Did Waterloo Police Officers Find?

According to a press release from the Waterloo police department, at 12:17 PM authorities were made aware of "possible human remains" at the Waterloo Waste Treatment Plant.

Officials arrived at the scene (2550 Kenyon Avenue in Waterloo) and were directed to the area where these remains were located.

The remains will be taken to the Iowa Medical Examiner’s so authorities can figure out the identity of the deceased and the cause of death.

The Waterloo Police Department did not confirm what state these remains were in or if they suspect that this was the result of foul play.
