Being born and bread just outside of Chicago, the cornucopia of beers to choose from was infinite. In fact, more people chose IPA's than domestics. I've been so used to people choosing Dog Fish Head, Goose Island, and Two Brothers that I assumed no one drank domestic unless you were having people over, and needed to bring a cheap drink. That all changed when I moved to Iowa.

Not only do Iowans drink domestic beer ALL the time, they actually prefer it. Coors Light, Budweiser, Miller Light, I've seen all kinds. But the King of Iowa beer? Busch Light, and its not even close.

Quite honestly, I understand the hype. Busch Light has crisp harmless taste that goes down the gullet smoothly. Its refreshing on a hot summer day and lets be honest, where else are you going to find a 30-rack for that cheap? But the real question is, why Busch?

I think it's a reflection of the blue-collar, hard-working attitude Iowans portray. You work hard. You play hard. You need a beer that delivers both in quality and quantity. Busch Light checks all the boxes. When I hit the bar tonight I know what I'm ordering. Hold your glasses high Iowans, this Busch is for you.
